This month has been a weird one because I've basically been locked away with my laptop for the duration working on something SUPER FUCKING EXCITING that I literally just cannot wait to bring to life. In this day and age it's so normal to just push things out on social media and onto the internet almost immediately and it's been a real challenge to keep my mouth shut about what it is I'm working on but fingers crossed all will be announced sooooon! In the meantime, highlights of November (the bits I can talk about!) including attending the Chain of Hope charity gala below...
It's funny to be writing this the day after taking to my Instagram stories for a cry about how hard it is at times to be freelance. That's the thing about being self-employed, there are lots of really cool highlights, but there's a lot of uncertainty, self-doubt and imposter syndrome etc, too. I wrote about being freelance a couple of months ago for success.com, you can read it here. Despite my little temporary black hole I found myself in yesterday, September's brought some pretty cool things with it, too.  TBH, writing this has made me feel a millionnnn times better and I guess maybe that's partly the point of it. We tend to give so much more importance to the negatives than the positives for some reason, and I guess this is partly my attempt at combatting that. From attending Rihanna's Fenty Beauty launch party to shooting for Marie Claire Arabia and more, highlights of the month below...
I remember the first bit of celebrity merchandise I ever sharpened my elbows for. The year was 2002, the concert was Christina Aguilera’s and the item? A pair of hot-pink pants with the word ‘Stripped’ emblazoned across the backside. It may not have been exactly what my mum wanted her barely teenage daughter to wear but oh, how we flocked. That frenzy isn’t something I, or any of us, thought we would experience, post-fandom. After all, how many twenty-somethings want their teenage idol splashed across their chest? According to the past couple of years, it turns out… pretty much all of us.
