I've always been an avid reader. So much so, that I used to get teased at school because my best friend was the librarian. Thing is, jokes on them because it's been proven that reading a book has all sorts of benefits, from increasing your emotional intelligence, improving your relationships and reducing symptoms of depression, to name but a few.

There's just something about a well written book that can transport you to alternate universes, and there's nothing quite as enjoyable as immersing yourself into the pages. It's my birthday tomorrow. Every year in the week(s) running up to my birthday I get a little weird. A little... nostalgic and melancholic, I think the word is. Pre-birthday blues, I like to call it. I guess it's kind of like how around new years people get super intense with writing down their resolutions, as if January 1st is going to give them the opportunity to change their lives in all the ways they hoped for year on year...
