GirlVSCancer & The Tit-Tee Campaign

This time last year, my homie Lauren Mahon was diagnosed with the bitch that is breast cancer. Almost precisely 12 months later to the day, after a year of gruelling chemotherapy and radiation, she was declared tumour-free. Taking to her social media to provide an inspiringly honest and frank look at the low-lows of the battle, Lauren birthed a movement she hashtagged #GirlVSCancer.

I took part in season one of the #GirlVSCancer tit-tees earlier this year (check out the post and my interview with Lauren here) and was more than happy to join Lauren and some more of her fabulous digital media mavens to help support the launch of the second edition, in collaboration with Dom&Ink, complete with playful fried egg, milk jugs, melons, bee stings and more fun innuendo-ed logos placed just so over the nips.

I joined 32 super influential babes (we made up a combined following of 7.6 million I shit you not) including Emma Gannon, Katherine Ormerod, Gemma Styles, Laura-Jane Williams, Millie Cotton, Lindsay Holland, Mother Pukka, Carrie of wishwishwish, and Reem Kanj, to name but a few. Because, as Lauren put it, if you’re gonna give breast cancer the middle finger you may as well do it in red lippie and a sassy t-shirt eh?

Launching during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, GIRLvsCANCER aims to be a place for fierce women, or loved ones of those faced with the c-bomb, to feel supported and equipped to deal with the shit show a cancer diagnosis brings, whether that be info on charities, articles on the nuances of cancer treatments and more.

Hugely important and needed, especially considering breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, with one person diagnosed every ten minutes, and one in eight women diagnosed with breast cancer every year. So please, please check your bits. (CoppaFeel’s super easy step-by-step illustrations are a great help for working out what’s normal for you and what to do when something feels different).

25% of GIRLvsCANCER tit-tees will be split equally between cancer charities CoppaFeel!, Future Dreams, Trekstock and Look Good Feel BetterShop the tit-tees and check out the newly launched girlvscancer.co.uk here.

CHECK YOUR TITTIES!
