I am an Egyptian born, London raised freelance journalist. I contribute social commentary, culture, fashion and celebrity interviews to publications including The New York Post, The Telegraph, Refinery29, The Debrief, Complex, Headspace, Dazed, Broadly and Hunger. You will also find some organic content on this website that isn’t published anywhere else and that I didn’t receive ££££ for.
I graduated with honours with an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Psychology before undertaking a Masters in Journalism. I very much enjoy drawing these aspects into my work, and I often touch on subjects concerning millenials and women, as well as drawing on my expertise as a bi-cultural woman of Middle Eastern origin.
As a blogger / influencer (soz, I do hate that word), I’ve worked with brands including Nike, ASOS, G-Star, Goldie Rox and Cointreau. Having launched moorizzla.com in 2009, the site has grown by over six times over the last 12 months. I have a global audience of over 13,000 followers on my verified Instagram account and over 5,000 on my verified Twitter account.
As a broadcaster, I’ve spoken on panels for Fashion Industry Insiders as well as appeared on national radio stations BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour, BBC Radio 1 and BBC 1xtra, where I’ve spoken about everything from ‘crazy ex-girlfriend’s’ to the need for increased diversity in the media. I have been interviewed for a number of podcasts including esteemed poet and social commentator Anthony Anaxagarou’s ‘The Interlocutor.’
